What is CSIA's mission?
The mission of CSIA is to foster innovation and a positive growth environment to enable the technology industry in Colorado to compete on a global basis. CSIA is the voice of Colorado’s information technology community, connecting member companies in their fields and building recognition of Colorado's IT industry as a global leader in technology development and application.

Who can join CSIA?
Membership is open to technology companies and IT departments in non-technology companies. An inexpensive membership plan is also available to economic development agencies, industry trade organizations, universities, government agencies, chambers of commerce and non-profit organizations. Business Membership is available at higher cost to non-technology companies at higher cost that includes co-sponsorship of a CSIA program or event.

With the support and participation of our members, CSIA provides a variety of compelling programs offering c-level insight into today's business and technology issues, helping your business gain that crucial competitive edge. CSIA also offers many opportunities to network allowing members to create and expand business relationships with other software and technology member companies. CSIA works on behalf of our member companies to effectively represent the diverse interests of the technology industry and ensure our industry's voice is heard by both Colorado legislative and governmental agencies.

What networking opportunities exist at CSIA?
CSIA offers many opportunities to network and interact with industry leaders by attending its programs and events. You'll meet other CSIA member companies and executives that will enable you to create and expand business relationships with current and potential customers, vendors, partners as well as gain referrals. By becoming involved as a volunteer in planning of our three major events, C-Level @ A Mile High, Apex Awards and DEMOgala or Programs, Membership, Marketing Communications or Public Policy Committees you will also have additional opportunities to work side-by-side and to network with other CSIA members.

What is CSIA's relationship to the Advance Colorado Center?
CSIA agreed to move its offices to join five Colorado based trade associations as part of the Advance Colorado Center located in the World Trade Center in downtown Denver. The Advance Colorado Center supports industry associations in Colorado who focus on key issues and efforts to help advanced technologies and job growth in the state. The Advanced Colorado Center is a partnership between the Colorado Economic Development Commission, the Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center.

How is CSIA funded?
CSIA receives its revenues through primarily two sources - membership dues and fees from sponsors including IHS Group, Microsoft, Oracle, Cooley Godward, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, ViaWest, Fairfield and Woods, Holland and Hart, Hein & Associates, Business Controls, First Data Corporation, and Public Service Credit Union.

When you join CSIA, you and your organization's employees instantly become part of a network of today's business and technology leaders, eager and willing to share hard-won wisdom, industry best practices and competitive views. CSIA members attend CSIA programs and events at drastically reduced rates or free depending on level of membership and sponsorship.

How can I get more involved in CSIA?
CSIA invites you to take full advantage of your membership by becoming involved as a volunteer in the planning of our three major events, C-Level @ A Mile High, Apex Awards and DEMOgala or Programs, Membership, Marketing Communications or Public Policy Committees. As a volunteer, you will also have opportunities to work side-by-side and to create and expand business relationships with other leading technology industry members. More than 100 volunteers have been involved in everything from CSIA's Apex Awards event, to legislative work, economic development involvement, connections between companies, advocacy, marketing communications, connections with business leaders plus CSIA's monthly programs.

                       Valuation Primer for Business Owners
Join this discussion on providing business owners and executives with a fundamental understanding of the principles underlying the valuation of their businesses, and ownership interests in them.  Topics will include various standards of value, and common methodologies and their application.  We will also discuss value enhancement and diminution factors, and how those factors might be strategically employed when selling a business, or for estate and gift tax planning and reporting.  Questions from participants relating to their specific circumstances will be encouraged.
